Location: 1850 Bluegrass Ave. Louisville KY 40215

Shift: First Shift Fulltime

About Us

Mary & Elizabeth Hospital part of UofL Health is a 298bed fullservice hospital. The hospital offers a full range of orthopedic cardiac neurological surgical vascular behavioral health rehabilitative and 24/7 emergency services. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is home to the University of Louisville School of Medicines Family Medicine residency training program. The hospital has received DNV Certification in the areas of Shoulder Surgery and Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery. It also been recognized as one of the first health care facilities in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction Center for bariatric surgery. The hospital was initially founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874.. UofL Health is home to over 14000 team members 1000 providers 200 practice locations 9 hospitals and 4 medical centers.

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Manager will have responsibility for the overall operations of the nursing unit to include financial performance service quality clinical outcomes quality improvement employee satisfaction and patient satisfaction. The Clinical Manager of the Nursing Department will have direct reporting responsibility to a designated Nursing Director.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Bachelors degree in Nursing required.
Masters Degree in a Nursing Specialty or Nursing Administration strongly preferred. Other Masters degrees such as business or healthcare administration will be considered.

EXPERIENCE:
Internal Candidates: At least four 4 years of experience in an acute care setting preferably an academic medical center. Prior management experience a plus.
External candidates: At least five 5 years of experience in an acute care setting preferably an academic medical center. Prior management experience a plus.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:
Kentucky RN License required. Professional certification in either a leadership or clinical specialty area strongly recommended. . If certification not present on hire it is to be obtained within 3 years of hire into position.
