CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT PARTTIME LECTURER POOL. The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department within the College of Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of parttime lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 202425 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate civil engineering or environmental engineering courses.

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024 the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5507$6677
Lecturer B: $6221$13224
Lecturer C: $6825$14523
Lecturer D: $8593$15211

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. in civil or environmental engineering or related area of engineering required. In some teaching areas and subject matters a B.S. in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) will satisfy the minimum qualification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

M.S. degree and professional licensure preferred. Previous teaching and/or consulting experience in any branch of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering are also desirable.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Following a conditional offer of employment a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment.
