Job Description

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Full Time Autism School

Westlake location

Achievement Centers for Children is a Cleveland Ohio based nonprofit organization that is nationally recognized for its excellence in helping children with disabilities and their families achieve and thrive. Employment at the ACC Autism School is rewarding both personally and professionally.

The ideal candidate for this position is Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who has had experience providing direct occupational therapy services to students in a classroom setting in a multidisciplinary collaborative model of intervention; under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Experience working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism is a plus.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant working in a pediatric or school setting
  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team approach
  • Interest in developing and applying therapeutic services to enhance students ability to perform activities of daily living and learning
  • Professionally driven and motivated to pursue clinical continuing education opportunities to develop therapy expertise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to children in a blended model classroom setting
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner consistent with agency and therapy department policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate consult and plan with other team members
  • Attend supervision departmental and agency meetings.
  • Provide supervision to volunteers and students as assigned.
  • Attend continuing education opportunities to maintain current licensure and develop professional competencies.
  • Serve on therapy department and agency committees.
