The Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) position is assigned a shift where the job requirements will involve training and support services for people with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities. Assignments may include group home shifts community services such as training/appointments/respite & office duties. Work involves providing rehabilitative services with the goal of assisting each person to become as independent as possible. The Direct Support Professional II position provides daily living personal hygiene social skills training and behavioral management skills training as needed for each person. Additional duties may include general maintenance of Center vehicles and cleaning duties around the home. Services provided are to be delivered in a timely manner and accuracy of documentation is a requirement. The Direct Support Professional II position provides all services in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code for HCS & TxHmL and the IDD Service Definition Manual provided by DADS.

The names of all prospective employees are cleared through the Texas Department of Public Safety to determine the existence of such records. For insurance purposes driving records will be checked on all employees that are required to drive as stated in their position description. If an employee is determined to be uninsurable employment may be dismissed.
