About Us:
The Richmond Race Club is located in the heart of the Hawkesbury an hours drive from Sydney CBD and conduct both greyhound Circle Racing and Straight Track Racing. As an integral part of the Greyhound Racing New South Wales (GRNSW) network we are committed to animal welfare safe racing and excellence in the sport of greyhound racing.
About GRNSW:
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is a body corporate constituted by the Greyhound Racing Act 2017 charged with providing strategic direction and leadership in the commercial management of greyhound racing in NSW. Its principal objectives are to exhibit a sense of social responsibility by having regard to the welfare of greyhounds to promote greyhound racing in the State as a competitive and sustainable industry with a high level of public trust and to ensure the sustainability and longterm commercial viability of greyhound racing for the benefit of participants business partners and the community.
Position Overview:
GRNSW are seeking a highly qualified NonParticipant Director to join the Richmond Race Club board of directors. The successful candidate will contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the club ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting the highest standards of welfare and integrity. This role involves attending 12 meetings per annum primarily held on track at Richmond as well as fulfilling additional committee responsibilities as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nonparticipant oversight and strategic guidance to the clubs operations.
Uphold the values of integrity transparency and welfare within the greyhound racing industry.
Collaborate with fellow directors and club management to achieve organizational objectives.
Review financial reports budgets and other relevant documents to ensure financial probity and sustainability.
Represent the club at industry events and engage with stakeholders to promote positive relationships.
Comply with all regulatory requirements and adhere to the clubs constitution and policies.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in the professions or marketing busiess operations risk management or other skills which will enhance the governance of the club.
Strong understanding of governance principles and best practices.
Proven ability to analyse complex issues and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Not currently involved as a participant in the greyhound racing industry.
Remuneration: The position offers a modest honorarium along with reimbursement for travel expenses incurred in fulfilling board duties.
