Transports patients and patient related items throughout the facility in a safe timely and efficient manner. Rotates throughout the different modalities within Radiology providing assistance to the Radiologists and Technologists in exams and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Communicates professionally with all staff patients and visitors throughout the campus. Functions independently and as a team member frequently with direction via telephone. Maintains an orderly well organized work area and keeps supplies and equipment readily available while ensuring proper storage of all supplies and equipment in the work unit. This position requires full use of arms hands repetitive foot motion reaching above your head and trunk rotation/twist. Position requires continuous movement and walking. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned assists in invasive and noninvasive procedures including the removal of IVs preparation of sterile trays safe handling transferring and transporting of specimens when needed. Works varied hours which may include days nights weekends and holidays.

High School Graduate or G.E.D Equivalent.
Additional Qualifications
Previous hospital clinical or patient care experience preferred. Requires excellent communication skills telephone and human relation skills to interact with patients guests and staff. Basic computer skills are required. Must be able to multitask and adapt to unpredictable situations. Must be able to complete the Mayo Clinics New Employee Orientation and General Systems Training. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance. Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Requires upper and lower physical strength to be able to manage the pushing and pulling of stretchers with and without patients occupying them.
License or Certification
Successful completion of a BLS course within the first 6 months of employment.
Completion of the Communications in Healthcare class within the first year of employment.
