Job Summary:
The Automotive Technician A TECH at James Chevrolet will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical repair and maintenance work on vehicles ensuring they are in safe and optimal working condition. This is a fulltime salaried position in the auto industry located in Johnstown New York. The A TECH will work independently as an individual contributor to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. The compensation for this role is between $35 to $45 per hour paid biweekly.

Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles including oil changes tire rotations and fluid level checks.
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
Perform inspections and use diagnostic equipment to identify problems with vehicles.
Replace or repair faulty parts such as brakes engines and transmissions.
Keep detailed records of all work performed and parts used.
Communicate effectively with customers and explain repairs and costs.
Adhere to dealership and industry safety standards and protocols.
Stay informed on industry updates new technologies and manufacturer recalls.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist other technicians and mechanics as needed.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an Automotive Technology program or equivalent work experience.
ASE certification or other automotive technical training preferred.
At least 3 years of experience as a mechanic or technician in an automotive setting.
Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools.
Excellent problemsolving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work efficiently and independently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
