The Opportunity!

The Underwriting Analyst reports to the Employee Benefits Manager while working as part of the Prairie Region Analytics Team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to delivering highquality clientready work and will continuously enhance their knowledge of the group benefits industry. They will gain insights into the organization and the diverse practices within it. The role involves providing analytical and problemsolving support to clients and team members.

At HUB we serve a broad range of clients across various industry sectors. The Analytics team plays a crucial role in the client management process supporting the local consulting team by gathering data conducting financial analysis and reviewing documentation related to clients life disability extended health and dental care programs

  • Full time permanent career working within our HUB Prairies locations.

A day in the life

  • Collect analyze and interpret group benefit plan renewals
  • Recommend a negotiation position regarding the renewal rates
  • Analyze and compare insurance products services and contracts
  • Perform plan audits and design deliverables for prospective clients
  • Prepare and draft client deliverables
  • Provide quarterly analysis of cost drivers by reviewing clients claims experience data
  • Assist with pricing and summarizing impacts of design alternatives
  • Provide peer review of work completed by colleagues
  • Provide support for new projects
  • Provide direct daytoday problemsolving support for local consulting teams by phone and email
  • Review contracts and compare with employee booklets/update employee booklets
  • Update tools and processes
  • Support internal administration team
  • Facilitate communication between internal departments

What you will bring to the role

  • 3 of Employee Benefits underwriting experience.
  • Postsecondary education and/or related courses in group benefits (CEBS)
  • Exceptional customer focus and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication presentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities effectively
  • Proven ability to be a dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence
  • Intermediate to advancedlevel proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite and specifically Word Excel and PowerPoint
