Job Description

Position is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled carpentry and carpentry related tasks within an R&D work environment. This will include repairs and improvements to equipment and buildings. Work is reviewed periodically on a project basis.

• Builds repairs and installs counters cabinets benches partitions floors doors building framework and trim.
• Ability to interpret drawings to determine dimensions.
• Move and assist in transportation of furniture and equipment.
• Set up and break down of cubicle partitions exercising discretion to identify projects that need high skilled crafts individuals services.
• Replaces damages ceiling tile floor tile and wall coverings.
• Must be able to maintain work logs.
• Ability to use various power and hand tools efficiently.
• Maintains storage areas organized.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma general education degree (GED) and 24 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education including vocational training.

• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

• Mathematical Skills Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent.

• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should be able to enter time and data into a computer system.

• Other Qualifications: Requires a valid drivers
