Cytotechnologist Days

Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Cytotechnologist to join a premier private clinical laboratory in Mobile AL. This is a fulltime position working the day shift Monday through Friday. The laboratory is committed to providing highquality diagnostic services and innovative solutions to improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform microscopic evaluation of cytology specimens including gynecologic (Pap smears) and nongynecologic samples to detect abnormal cells.
• Prepare and process cytology specimens using various staining techniques and methods.
• Accurately document findings and ensure timely reporting of results to pathologists and clinicians.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards.
• Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure accurate and efficient workflow.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in cytology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Cytotechnology or related field from an accredited program.
• ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical cytology laboratory preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
