Are you passionate about fundraising and building relationships that drive impact Were looking for a Donor Relations Associate to join our Philanthropy team and play a critical role in securing funding to support Caminos programs and services.


As the Donor Relations Associate you will be accountable for delivering and growing our annual giving programs focusing on securing financial support through direct mail online giving corporate partnerships thirdparty events and donor engagement campaigns. You will be responsible for cultivating relationships inspiring donations and delivering strategic donor communications and stewardship to increase philanthropic support.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING:

  • Drive revenue growth by developing and executing fundraising strategies including donor acquisition retention and solicitation efforts to meet annual fundraising targets.
  • Secure financial contributions by cultivating relationships with donors corporate partners and community supporters through personalized outreach calls meetings and engagement activities.
  • Lead annual giving campaigns including direct mail appeals online fundraising social media campaigns and special events to drive donations.
  • Develop compelling donor communications that inspire giving and ensure excellent stewardship to strengthen donor relationships.
  • Research identify and submit fundraising proposals including corporate sponsorships grants and major gift opportunities ensuring alignment with donor interests and organizational priorities.
  • Support the optimization of the donor database ensuring data accuracy tracking giving trends and using data insights to improve fundraising strategies.
  • Represent Camino in the community engaging with stakeholders to enhance fundraising efforts and increase brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with team members across the organization to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and maximize impact.
  • Stay current on fundraising trends and best practices continuously looking for ways to improve and innovate fundraising strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and maintain ethical fundraising practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support Caminos fundraising efforts.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

  • A strong background in sales business development or fundraising with a proven ability to secure financial commitments cultivate relationships and drive revenue growth.
  • 3 years of experience in sales business development fundraising or donor relations demonstrating success in prospecting engaging and securing financial support. Experience in direct marketing storytelling or donor/client stewardship is an asset.
  • Exceptional ability to confidently ask for financial commitments whether from individuals corporations or community partners.
  • Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to engage and inspire a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • A strategic and creative approach to developing pitches marketing fundraising or sales initiatives and closing deals.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Resilient selfdirected and highly motivatedsomeone who thrives in a goaldriven environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential materials and situations with professionalism sensitivity and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/fundraising databases (experience with sales or donor management systems is a plus.

ARE THERE BONUS POINTS

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW:

  • This is a permanent fulltime position
  • Work takes place in an office environment and within the community
  • Travel will be within the Region of Waterloo with no overnight stays
  • Evenings and weekends are sometimes
  • Must have a valid drivers license access to a reliable vehicle and applicable auto insurance
  • A police check for the vulnerable sector is
  • Must be able to provide either proof of vaccination or documentation providing a satisfactory reason under the Ontario Human Rights Code for not being vaccinated
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Wage: The hourly rate for this position is $23.21 $32.39
