Job: Environmental Services Floor Technician Classification: NonExempt/Hourly Job Category: 9 Service Workers
Position Summary The Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Tech is responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The floor tech will remove spots from carpets full carpet cleaning and extraction dispose of trash and assist with hazardous waste collection. Floor techs will operate floor sweepers buffers strippers and vacuums. Floor techs will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment. Protect patients and visitors by keeping floors free from harmful microorganisms and by being mindful of slip trip and fall hazards. The EVS Floor Tech position requires proficient knowledge and skills necessary to prioritize and carry out delegated tasks. This position participates in onthejob training and education while supporting members of management to achieve optimal department outcomes.
Essential Functions Cleans offices hallways common areas and other areas. Moves furniture before and after cleaning. Cleans dust mops strips and waxes floors. Measures chemicals correctly. Operates chemical dispensing units. Labels chemicals correctly. Cleans maintains and stores equipment and PPE proficiently. Keeps an inventory of floor areas and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties. Reports maintenance issues to supervisor. Assists with the hazardous waste collection as requested by the supervisor or leads. Disinfects equipment and supplies using approved disinfectant. Empties wastebaskets and transports other trash and waste to disposal areas. Observes precautions required to protect patients guests and staff. Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment. Keeps storage areas and carts wellstocked clean and tidy. Submits work orders for repairs. Leads by example and always models the attributes of TRMC Leadership. Completes other duties as assigned. Maintains a positive work demeanor. Able to clearly and effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from managers clients customers and the public. Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills and promotes a work environment that fosters positive energy creativity and teamwork among colleagues across all functional areas. Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience Five years in environmental services and/or acute care related service departments preferred.
Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
