Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. CAD $55.91/Hr.

Summary

As a Staff Nurse youll be at the forefront of patient care working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients physical social spiritual and psychological needs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
  • Make referrals to resources as needed.
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operate within the framework of Providence Health Cares mission vision and values.

What You Bring

Education:

  • You must be a registered nurse in Canada in good standing and be eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Completion of a post graduate operating room course or two years recent experience in an equivalent setting

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures.
  • Experience in teamwork decisionmaking and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated a teaching aptitude
  • Proficient in clinical leadership.
  • A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field.

  • 12Room Tertiary Level Operating Suite: Surgical services include general surgery gynecology otolaryngology orthopedics plastic surgery cardiothoracic surgery urology and vascular surgery.

You will be given the opportunity to work closely with surgeons anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your Day to Day:

  • Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews observations interviews and collaboration with peers.
  • Develop implement and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidencebased practices prioritizing patient/resident needs.
  • Adhere to established policies procedures and PHC standards while providing highquality nursing care.
  • Monitor patient/resident progress evaluate outcomes and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments care plans patient/resident status and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems.
  • Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs providing education and referrals as necessary.
  • Provide direction to staff promote teamwork and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care.
  • Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures.
  • Advocate for patients/residents rights and dignity facilitate discharge plans and collaborate with families and community resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.
