Job Description
Summary: Performs mid to expert level mechanical electrical and systems troubleshooting repair and preventive maintenance on equipment to manufacturers manuals diagrams sketches etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs midtoexpert level breakfix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.
- Identifies and sources parts supplies and repair items as necessary.
- Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.
- Provides support and back up for other members of the department as needed by leadership.
- Assures compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Must Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Completes on the job training for career development.
- Updates records in the webbased maintenance request form Smartsheet system.
- Drives and participates in continuous improvement activities processes results and cost savings.
- Follows all safety related policies rules regulations technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems.
- Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
- Aids lowerlevel technicians and provides leadership to small teams.
- Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and development.
Qualifications :
Skills and Abilities for success in this position:
- Understands electrical mechanical fluid power and control systems. Can analyze problems and perform repairs.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying take time to understand the points being made and ask questions as appropriately.
- Ability to manage ones own time and respect the time of others.
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual or with a team.
- Ability to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and communicate information and ideas with and from others.
- Ability to recognize when something has gone wrong or is likely to go wrong.
Knowledge Education and Experience Required:
- High School Degree or equivalent (GED).
- Associates degree with a technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5 years of related experience in general industry.
- Knowledge of basic electrical mechanical and fluid power systems. Can perform repairs
Physical and Work Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a nonclimatecontrolled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
- Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
- You must wear proper safety equipment as required by company policies.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds when necessary.
- The ability to see details at close range.
- Must have and maintain a current drivers license.
- Must be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)
