Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Forensic Technician to join our team in Greenwood Village CO. In this role you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations of passenger vehicle accidents commercial vehicle accidents failures and fires to determine their causes and contribute to legal proceedings and insurance claims.
- Examine vehicles involved in accidents fires or mechanical failures to collect and analyze evidence
- Utilize advanced forensic tools and techniques to reconstruct accident scenarios and determine causation
- Employ automotive and diesel truck manufacturer diagnostic software to query various vehicle modules for relevant event related data
- Conduct detailed inspections of automotive systems and components to identify defects or malfunctions
- Conduct detailed inspections of collision scenes to document collision evidence and roadway features
- Analyze data from vehicle event data recorders (EDRs) and other onboard systems
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings methodologies and conclusions
- Collaborate with legal teams insurance adjusters and other stakeholders to support expert testimony
- Stay current with advancements in automotive technology and forensic investigation techniques
- Maintain chain of custody for all evidence collected during investigations
- Assist in the development and implementation of new forensic procedures and protocols
Qualifications :
- Associates degree in Automotive Engineering Forensic Science or a related field
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in automotive forensics or a related field
- Proficiency in automotive systems and components including mechanical electrical and electronic systems
- Proficiency in mathematics physics and scientific principles
- Strong knowledge of forensic investigation techniques and accident reconstruction methods
- Expertise in data analysis and interpretation particularly related to vehicle data
- Proficiency in forensic tools and software used in automotive investigations
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problemsolving abilities and analytical thinking
- Relevant certifications such as FAA Part 107
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to automotive forensics
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
- Willingness to travel to investigation sites as needed
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $65000 $85000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset experience training location scope of role management responsibility etc.
