Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

Responsible to provide operational classification support for upcoming shipments. Responsible for ensuring resolution of various inquiries and requests from service providers (e.g. Brokers Freight Forwarders etc. and clients to resolve global issues associated with HTS ECCN and COO classification.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide daytoday operational classification support for upcoming shipments
  • Responsible for ensuring resolution of various inquiries and requests from service providers (e.g. Brokers Freight Forwarders etc. and clients to resolve global issues associated with HTS and ECCN classification
  • Assist with researching of Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) regulations
  • Assist with Trade data (HTS and ECCN) management in ERP system
  • Assist with drafting analysis and memorandums of COE HTS classifications
  • Assist with manage and tracking of multiple ongoing assignments
  • Validate tariff codes and qualification criteria for purchased parts and updates ERP system to support Free Trade Agreement (FTA) requirements
  • Validate ECCN for purchased parts and other products including updates in ERP system
  • Interact with other functions to identify improvement opportunities and timely remediation
  • Assist with maintaining Global Classification Product Data Base
  • Assist with creating and updating HTS classification logic maps to ensure classification accuracy and consistency

Qualifications :

Skills Experience Education & Training:

  • 0 to 1 years of international trade experience focusing primarily on customs and trade
  • 0 to 1 years of experience in HTS and ECCN classification and program development
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multitask including a demonstrated ability to drive decisionmaking in a fastpaced environment with ondemand requests
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver novel and practical solutions to solve complex Customs and regulatory issues
  • Global Classification Experience or familiar with classifying in other countries strongly preferred
  • Ability to write speak and present effectively and persuasively at all levels
  • Working knowledge of SAP and experience with databases and enterprise resource planning (ERP) global trade automation solutions
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent; or evidence of exceptional ability and/or experience
  • Some business travel 10 may be required.
