KOMAN Family of Companies has a lucrative career opportunity for a seasoned Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) with federal contracting experience to support our Phoenix AZ area projects at KOMAN Construction LLC.

What does the position do
- Responsible for the daily enforcement of all established safety programs regulations and safe work practices.
- Provide instructions to workers on safe work procedures safety regulations and emergency plans.
- Provide support and administrative assistance on project specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
- Investigate incidents promptly to identify underlying causes. Complete necessary documents and report to Safety Director.
- Perform regular onsite hazard assessments to identify unsafe work practices and hazards. Provide recommendations to eliminate issues and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections.
- Assist in performing compliance audits and implement followup corrective actions to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety and Safety Policy.
- Ensure daily and weekly safety meetings are performed and documented for all site employees and subcontractors.
- Provide weekly safety reports to the Safety Director.
- Keep up with current knowledge of safety literature regulations and codes or practice.
- Performs other duties as are appropriate and as assigned.
What will top candidates bring to the table
- Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) certification
- Minimum of 5 years of construction industry safety experience
- At least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years
- 30Hour OSHA (Construction or General Industry)
- Knowledgeable in EM38511
