The Opportunity
On behalf of our Client we are actively seeking an experienced Journeyman Refrigeration & HVAC Mechanic to join a growing business based in Shawnigan Lake BC. The daytoday operation of this role involves installing diagnosing repairing and maintaining various refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency servicing clients throughout the Vancouver Island area. The successful candidate will have completed their Apprenticeship in full and possess handson experience working with HVAC systems specifically heat pumps AC and heating as a Red Seal Technician capable of mentoring and training future Apprentices.
Although we are looking to hire a Red Seal candidate immediately we would certainly encourage Apprenticelevel candidates to apply as this company is in a significant growth mode at the moment. Furthermore this position is only open to those who presently reside in the Vancouver Island area as relocation assistance is not available at this time.

Required Experience and Qualifications
- 5 years of handson experience working as an HVAC Technician or Refrigeration Technician
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification is required
- Certificate of Qualification with Red Seal is mandatory
- Gas Fitter and HPSC Certification are strongly preferred
- Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract
- Fully bonded willing to complete a criminal/credit check as part of the application process
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the proven ability to repair and maintain complex systems
- Highly detailoriented with exceptional problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication skills with customers and team members alike
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience with Service Box is beneficial but not required
Responsibilities of the Position
- Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration and HVAC systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration units including cleaning inspecting and replacing parts as necessary.
- Repair or replace defective components such as compressors evaporators condensers and controls.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and operational procedures.
- Weld components as needed for repairs or installations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs maintenance performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
