Job Description

Are you an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse looking to join our Nurse Management team

Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our General Surgery Ward consisting of 30 beds with a case mix of Bariatric Gynaecology Chronic Pain and General Surgery. This is a fulltime role however we can also consider part time for this position if you are seeking work life balance!

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a stateoftheart 339bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.

With 22 operating theatres Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including but not limited to 24/7 Emergency Care Medical Services Orthopaedics Bariatrics Neurosurgery Plastic Surgery ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) General Surgery Obstetrics Cardiac Care and Oncology.

As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
  • Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
  • Providing guidance mentoring and support to your team
  • Be accountable for the effective management of human financial and material resources
  • Undertaking direct patient care as required
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
  • Post graduate qualification in Management (Desirable)
  • Extensive experience in Acute Surgical setting
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
  • Understand the requirements of private health funding
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customerfocused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
