Lead Support Worker
Ipswich Suffolk
Permanent part time 32.5 hours per week)
Pay 12.61 to 13.35 per hourplus great benefits including Health Cash Plan!

Want to be part of a team that really cares and empowers you to help change a customers life for the better As one of our Lead Support Workers (known locally as Support Coordinators youll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. Typical day as a Lead Support Worker (known by us as Support Coordinator)
- Starting the day with a cuppa and handover from colleagues youll catch up on any changes since you were last on shift and the support planned for the day ahead.
- You will be supporting customers with their identified support needs such as helping with cleaning paying bills community activity and appointments. You could be supporting customers to learn skills such as making meals shopping budgeting maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation when they are able
- You might be arranging an inhouse cooking group BBQ or an activity in the community such as a trip to Felixstowe for Fish and Chips.
- You might be taking the lead with a new referral and preparing paperwork along with arranging visits and assessments.
- Youll support customers with severe and enduring mental health who may also have a substance misuse issue a mild learning disability or supporting them at times of crisis.

You bring
- A passion and experience of support customers to live their best life working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
- Experience of creating personcentred support plans and supporting colleagues in working to work to the plans.
- Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
- The ability to workon your own initiative remaincalm under pressure and havea resilient approach.
- The experience of working in a supported housing/ mental health/ substance misuse/ learning disability/ autism background
- The ability to use technology for creating and updating support plans complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
- To get from A to B when working in services and for on call youll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage!

Job details
- Where were flexible with you we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
- There is a rolling rota working days evenings weekends and bank holidays. Shifts are typically 9am5/6pm 2pm11pm sleep in 7am3/4pm.
- Although youll spend some time lone working we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings.
- Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
- Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
