Job Description
Great Southern Wood Preserving Inc. makers of YellaWood brand pressuretreated pine is seeking an Operational Excellence Intern for the 2025 Summer Internship Program. This program is an opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before. From networking opportunities and realworld projects to community service events Great Southern provides the incredible opportunity to gain valuable realworld experience.
Responsibilities may include:
- Actively engage with customers external networks and internal colleagues to identify challenges market gaps and problems.
- Assist in the ideation collaboration research and development and screening of newly proposed solutions.
- Participate in the collaboration and refinement process of an idea done internally and externally to the company.
- Assist in the ideation process of a new concept through its launch.
- Create a compelling story and deliver the value proposition to multiple audiences.
- Problemsolve with differing perspectives confidently and effectively communicate new ideas and be fully committed to the successful launch of new ideas.
- Seek solutions in a transparent manner with external colleagues/customers internal project teams and senior executive management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Construction Business Information Systems or related field with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or greater.
- Must have experience with PowerPoint Excel Word Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
