The University of Florida Department of Pediatrics is pleased to announce a faculty opening for a fulltime Pediatric Psychologist in the Section of Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics Division of General Pediatrics. This position will be a nontenure track at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that is colocated and integrated into a large multisite general pediatrics practice within an academic medical center. Patients are referred to the team by general pediatrics providers and pediatrics subspecialty providers within and outside of UFHealth.

The psychologist will provide a broad range of outpatient behavioral health services to children adolescents and their families including triage consultation care coordination DSM 5 diagnostic assessments psychological testing problemfocused evidencebased interventions and referrals to other behavioral health and general pediatrics providers at UF Health and in the community as needed. Assignment will be comprised of clinical assessment and evaluation psychosocial therapies research teaching and administrative activities.

UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital provides care for the children of Florida and is a major destination center for pediatric patients both nationally and internationally who require specialized attention for complex medical problems.

UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital represents the only quaternarycare academic pediatric center in North Florida. The childrens hospital has 208 beds including fullyequipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Childrens Hospital is part of the Childrens Miracle Networks alliance of premier hospitals for children.

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development educating and training pediatric scientists and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patientoriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.

UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes including the Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute the UF Genetics Institute the Powell Gene Therapy Center and the UF Health Cancer Center.

Minimum Requirements:

Active/Unrestricted license in the State of Florida or license eligible in the State of Florida.

Training in an autismfocused track or track that had a significant component of time spent in assessment/treatment of autism and other developmental disabilities.

Experience providing evidenced based treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Experience with clinical interviewing and a variety of psychological testing instruments for children toddlerage through adolescence in the following domain (intelligence achievement language attention executive functioning social/behavioral/emotional functioning).

Specific knowledge/training for the following assessments:

  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Second Edition (ADOS2 Toddler Module and Modules 14
  • Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals Fifth Edition(CELF5 or other comprehensive language measures
  • Leiter International Performance Scale Third Edition (ELeiter3
  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test Third Edition (WIATIII) or
  • Woodcock Johnson Tests of Achievement Fourth Edition(WJAchIV)
  • Adaptive Behavior Assessment System Third Edition (ABAS3 or Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales Third Edition (Vineland3
  • Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ)
  • Social Responsiveness Scale Second Edition (SRS2
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with interdisciplinary case collaboration with other professionals treating child with autism spectrum disorder such as developmental pediatricians child psychiatrists speech therapists and occupational therapists.
