What you will do:
In the position of Afternoon Shift Lead Hand & 310T Truck & Coach Technician your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Supervising and leading a team of technicians to ensure all shift work is performed safely cost effectively and in a time efficient manner.
- Delegating repairs and PMs to Technicians based on their skills and abilities.
- Completing service maintenance and repairs of all Company vehicles to both Ministry and Company standards and procedures.
- Diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently and minimize equipment downtime.
- Repairing waste vehicles and trucks including troubleshooting of hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Completing road tests on serviced vehicles/equipment.
- Completing work orders with on hand tools and equipment.
- Reading and interpreting manufacturer/operator manuals.
- Maintaining all service records and files for vehicle maintenance.
- Responding to onroad service calls as required.
- Completing preventative vehicle maintenance according to established MWSI policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that all equipment vehicles and work areas comply with safety policies and regulations at all times.
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.
- Leading by example in the of all the above duties and ensuring that all others within the shift are following safety policies and procedures as outlined in MWSI policies procedures and legislation.
What you should have:
- A safetyfirst attitude with a familiarity of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and your responsibilities as a supervisor within it.
- Journeyman 310T Truck & Transport Technician Certification.
- Five 5 years of experience as a journeyman.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy trucks & handson experience repairing and maintaining hydraulic and electrical systems.
- A minimum G Drivers Licence and also maintain this licence.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- A team mindset and demonstrated ability in coaching and motivating others for effective team building and optimal performance.
- The ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fastpaced work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral auditory and written).
- Flexibility with scheduling as delays in the truck schedule may require you to work outside regular scheduled hours and on rare occasions weekend work and holidays.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience with Cummins and Detroit midrange engines
- Mobile service experience
- DZ Licence
