Sr Director Assistant Controller Financial and SEC Reporting

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Assistant Controller Financial and SEC Reporting reports to the VP Controller and Corporate FP&A and is responsible for the oversight and delivery of the consolidated global financial statements SEC reporting global accounting policies (CFIs) and Audit Committee materials. Direct reports include the Director of Financial Reporting Director of SEC Reporting and Director of Accounting Policy.

This role is highly visible with exposure to the CEO and CFO of the company. The successful candidate will demonstrate significant leadership and executive potential to achieve further career growth in KimberlyClark.

Role & Responsibilities:

More Specifically Assistant Controller Financial and SEC Reporting will:

  • Oversee the Corporate Reporting Consolidations function for the global financial statements including the accurate complete and timely analysis and reporting to internal and external customers for consolidated financial results on a monthly quarterly annual and asrequested basis
  • Oversee the companys SEC compliance efforts including strategy project planning analysis of requirements document support preparation and review and filings (e.g. 10Q 10K 8K 11K SD etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to identify and implement efficiencies for the financial and SEC reporting processes
  • Provide project leadership to accounting and reporting related initiatives (e.g. adoption of new accounting standards accounting for acquisitions and divestitures) and other initiatives of the Controllers Office
  • Advise global teams on technical accounting matters statutory reporting controls requirements
  • Ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting for complex transactions (e.g. restructurings supplier contracts derivatives M&A etc.
  • Oversee technical research as needed to support SEC filings and prepare position papers and other documentation as appropriate
  • Oversee the Corporate Financial policies (CFIs) including drafting of new policies and ensuring existing policies are updated on a periodic basis
  • Ensure the preparation and dissemination of periodic reports to the Audit Committee are of high quality
  • Key contributor to Digital Transformation Initiative

Professional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant accounting and reporting experience
  • Broad and expert knowledge of financial reporting SEC requirements and auditing principles.
  • Experience in a multinational public company of similar size to KimberlyClark and/or a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and competing time demands and strong oral written and presentation skills to deliver effective communications and presentations.
  • Have a think customer orientation to manage leaders and auditors expectations and a continuous improvement mindset to further the companys program of driving efficiency throughout the reporting process.
  • Ability to build trust with key customers and stakeholders and a desire to broaden his/her exposure and knowledge beyond the corporate office.
  • Educational requirements can be met by an undergraduate degree or better with a background in finance or accounting.
  • Experience with of and Hyperion Financial Workiva and SAP systems
  • Strong working knowledge of technical accounting controls SOX and audit processes
  • Broad business acumen and analysis skills
  • Experience working and driving results internationally

  • Executer of transactional controls
  • Preparer of financial statutory or management reports/filings
  • Preparer of underlying analysis for complex or routine business transactions
  • Preparer of results analyses or forecasts

The Assistant Controller Financial and SEC Reporting will be based in Dallas TX.

The North America salary range: $215500 $278500 USD

Along with base pay this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite including our 401(k) and ProfitSharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as location role skills performance and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
