Your Mission in Funcom

Funcom Games is on the lookout for a passionate VFX Art Intern to join our creative team in Bucharest Romania!

As a VFX Art Intern youll have the chance to bring worlds to life with stunning visual effects crafting gameready magic while making sure everything runs smoothly. This is your opportunity to learn create and grow alongside a team of talented game developers.

No prior experience No problem! What matters most is your artistic talent and creative spark! Were looking for passionate individuals with a standout portfolio that showcases their best work.

How you can have an impact in your position:

• Assist in creating new visual effects and variations for environments characters props vehicles and weapons.
• Balance artistic vision with technical constraints adhering to technical budgets and industry standards to ensure exceptional .
• Identify and resolve bugs while optimizing VFX assets for performance and technical requirements.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and evolving nextgen standards.
• Working effectively with designers artists and developers.

We are looking for you to have:

• A strong willingness to learn and a desire to improve your skills in VFX Art.
• Basic understanding of 3D art fundamentals including effects particles textures lighting materials and technical limitations in game development.
• Knowledge of Houdini and/or Embergen Photoshop 3ds Max After Effects or other 3D software with an eagerness to expand your expertise.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work efficiently within deadlines.
• Creativity & artistic vision
• Bachelors degree in a related field or currently pursuing a Masters degree.

In addition ideally you might also have:

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5 Unity Niagara Shuriken or VFX Graph.
• Experience working with modular systems.
• Proficiency inHoudini and/or Embergen for realtime applications.
• A strong passion for gaming and game development beyond just art.
