Currently we are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a rewarding position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a leading healthcare facility in Hollywood FL.

Position Overview:
As a Respiratory Therapist in the NICU you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to newborns with respiratory distress and other complex conditions. You will work closely with neonatologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver highquality respiratory care and interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for premature and critically ill infants.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory care to neonates in the NICU including mechanical ventilation CPAP and oxygen therapy.
  • Perform assessments and monitoring of neonatal respiratory status and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Collaborate with the neonatology team to manage neonatal respiratory conditions and provide lifesaving interventions.
  • Provide direct patient care including the use of neonatal ventilators oxygen therapy devices and other respiratory equipment.
  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide necessary interventions in critical situations.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient assessments treatments and progress.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on respiratory care techniques including the use of home care devices and techniques for preterm infants.
  • Adhere to hospital policies procedures and safety protocols in all aspects of respiratory care.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) license in the state of Florida.
  • Neonatal Respiratory Care certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a NICU or with neonatal patients preferred.
  • Strong understanding of neonatal respiratory conditions therapies and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work well in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to quickly assess and respond to emergencies while maintaining a calm and focused approach.
