High school graduation diploma or graduation equivalency diploma (GED) certificate.
Valid EL01 Washington State Electrical License.
One year of related experience in a commercial or institutional setting.
Valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work in order to drive a stateowned vehicle to work locations.
Possess a strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and regulations such as: Washington Administrative Code (WAC) regulations and local building mechanical and NEC electrical codes.
Physically perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to perform daily work tasks independently under limited supervision.
Possess technical accuracy and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to work with computer hardware including touch screen tablet and software required to track work orders and record time worked.
Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a friendly and cooperative manner with students staff and faculty at all levels of the organization and in contacts with the public.
Possess strong communication skills including both written and verbal.
Ability to manage time well and work under pressure situations with tight schedules and deadlines to complete projects.
Effectively read and understand written information and instructions.
Ability to solve problems and work independently.
Meet schedules and deadlines while staying within the estimated costs.
Possess a strong knowledge of Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) rules and regulations standard job safety rules and proper use of a face respirator.
Possess a good working knowledge of or formal training in several related skill fields including plumbing sheet metal welding pipe fitting pipe insulating hazard material (asbestos abatement) building controls signage and painting obtained in an institutional commercial or industrial environment.
This position requires a fingerprint background check.
$6018 $6809/month depending on qualifications and experience.
