Description of Work
This is a repost all previous applicants must reapply to be considered.This posting is for an entry level Engineering Technician I position located in the WinstonSalem Construction 2 Resident Engineer Office. This position will assist engineers and higherlevel technicians in the implementation and administration of roadway and structure construction projects awarded to private contractors. Responsibilities of this position will include assisting on projects categorized from minor to complex providing inspection throughout every phase of a construction project to ensure it is built according to plans and specifications in a timely and costeffective manner and conducting routine inspections for compliance with contract agreements standard codes permits and specifications. Daily duties will also include performing calculations computation and computer/iPad data entry. POS#and POS#.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
- Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments
- Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports
- Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience
- Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment iPad and software
- Knowledge and understanding of general concepts practices and theories used in construction construction inspection and /or construction surveying
Additional Expectations:
The selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle. Safety shoes are required. Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of NCDOT post offer employment evaluation.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or assigned discipline from an appropriately accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience
