Job Description

ONSITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK NOT A REMOTE ROLE

Our client American Mechanical Services is hiring an HR Manager based in their Laurel MD office!

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for the companys employment policies and will plan lead direct develop and coordinate the policies ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy. The HR Manager is the link between management and employees ensuring that all employment relations run smoothly for the company to achieve its organizational goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

DESCRIPTION:

  • Supports management by providing human resources advice counsel and decisions.
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching developing writing and updating policies.
  • Administers human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition and morale.
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends best practices regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources talent management and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy practice and resources to upper management.
  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.
  • SHRMCP or SHRMSCP highly preferred.
  • Multistate experience with thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole Human Resources professional.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical problemsolving and leadership skills.
  • Adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

COMPENSATION:

  • $100K base $25K bonus paid out semiannually
