The person in this position provides assistance to the faculty in the Practical Nursing Associate Degree Nursing programs during lab and simulation experiences. Under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health the CLA2 will also facilitate utilization of learning aids and resources available in the simulation centers for students.
Assist faculty with laboratory and simulation experiences Skills/Sim Lab Management Preparation and Organization Skills/Sim Lab Management Maintain simulation labs Other duties as assigned
WAGE: $21.57$30.13/per hour
Minimum Qualifications
Associate or higher degree in nursing; AND 1 academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in nursing at the high school level or above; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualification
BSN in Nursing
Knowledge of working with technical equipment problemsolving/ maintenance of simulation equipment.
Knowledge of college goals and Ridgewater Colleges mission.
Knowledge of Ridgewater College Nursing.
Knowledge of nursing communications English as a Second Language computer skills study skills etc.
Communication skills (verbal written) are essential.
Ability to learn to use simulation equipment create moulage and support faculty as directed in simulation learning experiences.
Ability to work independently in assisting students with lab resources.
Knowledge of student support services such as career development and educational planning.
Ability to work with administration faculty staff and agencies.
Knowledge of the ADA and other legal and privacy issues.
Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to position self to move. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb/balance.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
The position may also require close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCUs vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
