Description

We are seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our Pediatric staff. They must be a selfmotivated individual who has a passion for working with children and being a part of a committed and innovative team. Join our 23member team providing occupational therapy physical therapy speech therapy and cardiac rehab services.

This position will work fulltime in the outpatient pediatric clinic with a heavy sensory caseload and approximately 2 hours every sixth Saturday with inpatient adults.

The successful candidate will have a current MN license as a registered Occupational Therapist. Pediatric experience preferred but new graduates with pediatric clinical experience are welcome.

Job Summary:

Occupational therapists are health care professionals who address the restoration of maximum function of both the mentally and physically disabled by using OT procedures and work processes to assist in the improvement and development and/or maintenance of mental social or physical abilities which have been impaired by disease or injury.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provides Occupational Therapy evaluation treatment/activities planning and treatment (including physical modalities) implementation to clients of all ages; addresses individual developmental cognitive and physical needs as well as cultural differences.
  2. Coordinates client care with other disciplines through good communication and intervention recommendations.
  3. Provides education information and training to clients family caregivers and community to promote continuity of care optimum therapeutic outcome and community health.
  4. Maintains documentation and records of treatment performance to assure quality client care meet regulatory and professional standards and receive optimal reimbursement.
  5. Acts as a consultant to internal and external customers.
  6. Maintains education knowledge and training required to provide uptodate quality care to meet client case load and community needs and meet minimum state registration requirements.
  7. Oversees COTAs support staff students and volunteers.
  8. Participates in quality improvement and peer review to assure effective and efficient services.
  9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

License/Registration/Certification Required:(will be primary source verified by HR)

  1. Current license through the Minnesota Department of Health.
  2. Current NBCOT certification
  3. Current CPR certification required
