About the Job Your Role
As our Medical Services Manager you will work cooperatively with stakeholders throughout the department to meet the medical needs of our adults in custody. You will coordinate teams of professionals verify our services are clinically appropriate and consistent with community health care standards and provide information to administration. The person in this position will need to create strong working relationships throughout the institution and the division exercise judgement and provide leadership to the EOCI Health Services staff.

This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of supervision management or progressively related experience.
OR
Four years of related experience and a bachelors degree in a related field.
Note: Possession of an unencumbered Registered Nurses License from the Oregon State Board of Nursing at the time of appointment.
Special Qualifications
License to practice in Oregon as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
Three years supervisory and/or teaching experience in an independent practice setting and prior nursing experience.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of individuals ranging from health care professionals to lay persons.

Working Conditions
Will be expected to share the mission vision and core values of the department. Requires being a role model of prosocial behavior and having an attitude that conveys dignity and respect in the treatment of others. Must be able to acknowledge everyone is capable of positive change.
Work inside of an adult correctional facility including frequent interactions with adults in custody. Prolonged use of computer terminals. After hour availability in the event of emergencies.

It advises and evaluates counties regarding administration of probation and parole programs supervising more than 24000 offenders in Oregon communities. The salary range listed above is for nonPERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95.

About the Process What to Expect

The hiring manager will review your application and schedule interviews.
Interview will be held with a panel of stakeholders who have completed panel assessment training. Scores will be determined based on predetermined questions and scoring guides. Preferences points will be applied in compliance with relevant laws and bargaining agreements. There may be multiple rounds of interviews.
Final candidates will have a background check PREA check and reference checks.

Requirements for Employment
The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprintbased background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
