Job Description

The Cashier is a brand ambassador that will greet guests and process purchases through the electronic register system.
Starting Rate: $21.00/hr
Scope of Responsibilities:
Cashiering
- Greet each Guest using both verbal and nonverbal communication in a positive manner
- Process purchases using either scanner technology or electronic keypad
- Properly bag purchaseswrapping breakable items where necessary
- Upsell to Guest using established and appropriate procedures
- Process final purchases with either proper cash handling techniques or credit card transactions
- Close each transaction with a friendly greeting and inviting the guest to return
Guest Service
- When not processing purchases assist guests on sales floor with purchases
- Utilize knowledge of products and pricing to satisfy guest inquiries and create upsell opportunities
- Replenish stock of durable and perishable goods as needed
- Answer shop phone system and respond to guest service needs in a professional manner
- Regularly assist Chocolateers Supervisors and Management in monitoring guest activity and creating excitement with superior guest service
- Assist when necessary in prepacking items for sale; giftwrapping items for sale; inventory control and management
- Offer samples of product to guests
Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Basic math skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills relevant to the requirements of the position
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Ability to work with a diverse work team and meet adversity with professionalism
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Computer literacy in register systems
- Knowledge of POS systems
- A Propensity to provide Superior Guest Service
Education and/ Experience
- High School Diploma Preferred
- 0 2 years minimum experience in retail/restaurant cashiering.
