Overview

In close cooperation with our customers Bruker is enabling innovation improved productivity and customer success in postgenomic life science molecular and cell biology research in applied and biopharma applications in microscopy and nanoanalysis as well as in industrial and cleantech research and nextgen semiconductor metrology in support of AI. Bruker offers differentiated highvalue life science and diagnostics systems and solutions in preclinical imaging clinical phenomics research proteomics and multiomics spatial and singlecell biology functional structural and condensate biology as well as in clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology (BNSM) division is part of Bruker Corporation a worldwide leading provider of scientific instrumentation. BNSM division requires an applications scientist to drive business growth of our Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) Stylus and Optical Profilers and NanoIndentation Systems. The role is based in our UK headquarters in Coventry UK with approximately 50 of time travelling in UK sometimes in EMEA.
Responsibilities
- Provision of Applications Support for successful growth of the above product lines
- Product demonstrations
- Executing samples measurements to technically advance an opportunity
- Providing advanced technical support for the Bruker sales team in customer visits
- Supporting existing customers via applications support (email phone Teams TeamViewer visits)
- Presenting latest developments at academic & industrial conferences
- Operating instruments on booths at conferences and workshops
- Running practical workshops at Bruker internal events (workshops user meetings etc...
- Packing getting instruments ready for shipment and installing systems for demonstration
- Providing advanced training for customers
- Sharing best practice regarding instrument operation within Bruker global applications team
- Managing a demonstration laboratory. The successful candidate will work with the Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology Division sales team based in the UK and be fully integrated within the European Applications team.
- The position reports to the EMEA SalesApplications Manager with priorities also being set by the EMEA Sales Director.
- The position is based at our Coventry office. Travel in UK and Europe will account for approximately 50 of the time.
Qualifications
- Higher Degree in a Scientific Discipline experience in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) NanoScale Characterisation is a plus.
- BSc or MSc using advanced Nanoscale or Optical Metrology an advantage
- Current valid driving licence
- Fluent in English
- Accurate literate and articulate with good communication skills in English written and spoken
- Proof of oral presentations at scientific conferences is beneficial.
- Experience with Surface Profilers NanoIR and NanoIndentation Systems is beneficial.
- Experienced in use of Microsoft Word Outlook Excel Powerpoint AI
- Experience demonstrating and training with scientific instrumentation in an academic or industrial environment is beneficial
- This JDE cannot be exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which are broadly in line with the above key objectives.
