Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Government at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for the Academic Year. Applicants should hold an earned Ph.D. in Public Administration Public Policy Political Science or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a Ph.D. (verified by official transcripts) at time of appointment. The position begins in August 2025.
The position serves the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program within the department. It requires expertise in the core curriculum of the MPA program and American Government. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of or potential for highquality teaching including the ability to teach fully online courses.
The successful candidate will teach courses that may include but are not limited to Public Administration Ethics and Public Policy in the MPA program and Introduction to American Government courses at the undergraduate level. The teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: An earned Ph.D. in Public Administration Public Policy Political Science or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a Ph.D. (verified by official transcripts) at time of appointment.
Experience:
