Job Description
As a Software Engineer at Alarm you will work with a small team of fullstack developers who work on all serverside aspects of smart home security. Our mandate is broad and includes (and is not limited to) processing security events provisioning equipment monitoring station signaling testing automation and integrating a wide and diverse set of devices with the Alarm connected ecosystem. Our software development includes working on backend services websites and database design that make up our whole ecosystem.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of technical areas. Typical projects will involve diverse technologies and skills and require close collaboration with device engineers business partners and other engineering teams. Strong multitasking skills and the ability to selflearn are musthave attributes. Candidates must communicate well within a team environment and work independently on selfdirected tasks.

Responsibilities
- Develop fullstack software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
- Take part in the entire project life cycle from requirements development to deployment with lots of crossteam collaboration.
- Engage in the research evaluation and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging project goals.
- Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly and when to build a robust solution.
- Bring your ideas! We want our engineers to collaborate on product development not blindly build to a spec.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Bachelors in Computer Science Computer Engineering a related field or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of professional software development experience
- Experience leading and mentoring other engineers
- Strong objectoriented programming skills; C# a plus
- Experience with database design and development
- Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as sockets tcp udp and ports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with highavailability highthroughput services
- Experience with external facing APIs and/or thirdparty platform integrations
- Familiarity with distributed event streaming platforms such as Kafka
- Experience with JavaScript development using an established JS framework such as Ember
