Job Title: Senior Project Manager Civil Engineer

Reports To: Director of Engineering Management

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and licensed Civil Engineer to join our team as a Senior Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of handson experience in the civil engineering field with a strong technical background in public works projects. This individual should be adept at leading and mentoring teams of engineers possess exceptional client relationship management skills and have a proven track record in business development.

About the Job:

The functional areas and responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager are as follows:

Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

  • Provide strategic leadership in the planning design and of complex public works projects.
  • Oversee and manage project teams ensuring the successful delivery of highquality engineering solutions while adhering to plans schedules timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with various support staff municipalities and clients to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Expertise:

  • Leverage experience and practical engineering skills to expertly supervise direct and/or perform site grading and drainage roadway and utility design and structural design.
  • Perform all duties in strict adherence to local state federal and international building codes guidelines and best practices to ensure that every project complies with safety and environmental standards.
  • Analyze and implement best practices in engineering design utilizing advanced computer aided drafting software and mapping including but not limited to Civil3D and GIS.
  • Contribute to the solutionoriented culture of SEG by thinking critically to solve challenging engineering problems.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations integrating new technologies into project workflows.

Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Provide guidance on technical challenges professional development and career advancement opportunities for team members.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients providing expert insights and recommendations to enhance project outcomes.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities contributing to the growth and expansion of the firm.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to prepare proposals participate in client presentations and win new projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering; Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering with a focus on public works projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams.
  • Exceptional technical expertise in civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and fulfill client needs.
  • Experience in business development including proposal preparation client presentations and successful project acquisition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
