Description

The Hennepin County Attorneys Office (HCAO) is seeking a Senior Planning Analyst to conduct data analysis and develop a variety of dashboards and reports to help advance the HCAOs vision mission and values. This position will analyze data from large relational databases perform adhoc data analysis support the HCAOs data communication and transparency priorities and present results to key stakeholders to address complex organizational challenges. This position will use report development and data products including but not limited to SQL R Databricks and Power BI.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed at the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 South 6th Street Minneapolis MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefitearning employees is inperson in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position you will:

Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelors degree or higher in business administration public administration research methods statistics behavioral/social science public health computer science/MIS management science or urban/city planning andtwo years or more of related experience.
    • Related education and/or experience to total six years or more.

Nice to have:
  • Experience:
    • Using skills in statistics data analytics and quantitative methods (e.g. inferential statistics multivariate analysis prediction and forecasting classification clustering) to solve realworld problems.
    • Using programming languages for data science and/or applied research (e.g. R Python).
    • Using data reporting/data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau).
    • Using SQL and other tools to query and prepare data from large relational databases for use in data analytics projects.
    • Working with data lake architectures and/or other cloudbased data structures.
    • Working within the criminal legal system or with criminal legal system data.
    • Developing research designs methodology and data collection procedures.
    • Creating written reports memos infographics slide decks and other products to communicate data analysis processes and results.
    • Evaluating policies practices and programs.
    • Facilitating discussions to gather stakeholder feedback on data projects.
  • Knowledge of county government processes and data and public administration.
  • Interest in supporting missiondriven work focused on disparity reduction justice equity fairness and integrity.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office products including Word Excel PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Ability to:
    • Present and communicate complex analyses to a variety of stakeholders.
    • Build and nurture collaborative relationships with a variety of customers/partners both internal and external.
    • Successfully manage multiple priorities projects and work independently.
