We are seeking a fulltime Accountant for our Tampa FLlocation (level TBD based on experience).
Position Summary:
General accounting position responsible for ownership of various financial statement areas. Position will provide excellent opportunities for growth and advancement for candidates demonstrating strong work ethic and leadership characteristics.
Responsibilities:
- Produce/review monthly journal entries for various areas of responsibility
- Complete/review monthly reconciliations for areas of responsibility. Assure complete understanding of the activities in assigned accounts. Identify and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Participate in monthly financial statement reviews for assigned entities with finance leadership and operations. Reviews should be completed ahead of time to help lead the discussion of the monthly results for accounting completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain SOX compliance in all areas of responsibility.
- Assist with internal and outside auditor requests for 10Q 10K and Sox Control testing.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to lead ad hoc projects. We are looking for candidates excited about expanding their knowledge base and engaging in growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related degree
- 2 years experience in public or corporate accounting
- Strong analytical & problemsolving skills
- Understanding of internal controls and U.S. GAAP
- Ability to communicate effectively across functional teams and interpret a variety of instructions including written and oral
- Ability to analyze and efficiently utilize large amounts of information
- Selfstarter with a desire for process improvement and learning
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including advanced excel skills (Pivot Tables VLOOKUP XLOOKUP Cell formatting Conditional Formatting etc.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands talk/hear sit will reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will stand walk reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
- Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequentlywill lift up to 10 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
