Job Summary:

Essential Job Functions
Coordinates the administration of all leaves of absence (LOA) through KRONOS requests determines applicable eligibility and communicates correct leave information to employees.
Creates and maintains LOA files to ensure accurate and timely information/documentation.
Communicates LOA status to various department managers and stakeholders.
Coordinates with Employee Health on medical leave of absences and communicates regularly with Employee Health and Employee Relations.
Assists with maintaining compliance with all state and federal laws surrounding leaves of absences; identifies and resolves day to day problems within parameters defined by established company benefit plans policies and precedents.
Applies knowledge of FMLA ADA and other legal requirements to reach appropriate decisions.
Refers complex problems to the Director of Employee Relations for direction.
Assists in ongoing development improvement and education of leave of absence policies and procedures.
Works collaboratively with other areas of Human Resources to ensure effective operation to achieve organizational objectives.
Administers the MFH and MJE short term disability programs.
Develops and provides reports as requested and appropriately documents accommodations made for staff members.
Responsible for updating employee time record with PTO MFH STDor Unpaid pay codes to ensure appropriate pay while on leave.
Provides timely communication of leave status to HR staff for Lawson HR system to ensure the appropriate application of benefits pay and active status.
Demonstrates knowledge of benefits and assists withappropriate benefit communication during employee leave status.
Works collaboratively with Benefits toadminister MFH and MJE disability provisions including eligibility calculation and payment of appropriate earnings and coordination of PTO versus disability payments.
Updates leave system with workers compensation leave status and appropriate pay.
