Job Description The Program for Accessible College Education (PACE) Program Coordinator provides strategic leadership development and coordination of the PACE program. The PACE Program Coordinator will work collaboratively across the college and with an Advisory Committee to develop implement and sustain the PACE program including developing and getting approvals for the PACE academic program developing processes for recruiting and admitting eligible students identifying necessary quality services and supports for PACE students and process for admission and onboarding of students into the PACE program. The PACE Program Coordinator will utilize and fulfill all of the requirements of the initial OHE Inclusive Higher Education Grant funding. The PACE Program Coordinator will develop a plan for sustainability to include differential tuition fees and additional grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years relevant work experience in a related field such as rehabilitation counseling education disability studies higher education psychology or human services a bachelors degree may substitute for 1 year of professional experience and associates degree may substitute for 6 months experience.
  • Experience working with and providing services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Understanding of accommodations for individuals with documented disabilities.
  • Knowledge of laws and bylaws that govern disability services such as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Association of Higher Education and Disabilities (AHEAD).
  • Knowledge of adaptive computer technology and its appropriateness for students with disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel independently on behalf of the college.

Preferred Qualification

  • Masters degree in a related field such as rehabilitation counseling education disability studies higher education counseling psychology or human services.
  • Three 3 years of experience working with and providing services to individuals with disabilities especially in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to advocate for student needs and disseminate information regarding services at the community college and community.
  • Understanding of the dynamics and legalities in disability services and how they influence the college community.
  • Willingness to work with students who may become challenging.
  • Effective organizational skills to coordinate academic accommodations track student demographics and produce annual reports.
  • Familiarity with community resources that assist students with disabilities to attend college.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds.
