Spectrolab Inc. a whollyowned subsidiary of The Boeing Company is seeking a highlymotivated and talented MultiSkill Engineering Manager to expand the management of the Process Engineering Group with responsibility over the Metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) and Solar cell fabrication areas in Sylmar CA.

This Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the process engineering team to develop implement and optimize manufacturing processes. These areas heavily focus on yield throughput and uptime metrics and the manager will lead the team to advance the departments. This role involves collaborating with crossfunctional teams to ensure that processes are efficient costeffective and meet quality standards. The manager will also be responsible for mentoring team members driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Due to the production nature of this work this manager will need the ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends when necessary.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities within multiple 2 or more) Engineering disciplines.
  • Structures the process engineering team to support expanding production.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.
  • Manages develops and motivates employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science OR 9 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience using basic MS Office software tools including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes.
  • Direct experience within Metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) and Solar cell fabrication areas.
  • Experience with statistical process control.
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications highly desired. Green Belt minimum preferred with ideal candidate possessing Black Belt or higher.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience leading root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts.
  • Excellent communications skills verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management customers and partners.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous engineering management experience.
  • Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion transparency and trust.
  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in leading mentoring and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.
  • Can uplevel existing team by hiring high performance talent growing leaders and helping underperforming members.
  • Can gain trust of team and provide guidance for their careers.
