Program Overview

The ReDefiners World Languages Internship Program is a dynamic and immersive opportunity for students completing a degree related to World Language Instruction. Students who work with ReDefiners are seeking to gain additional handson experience that often complements previous teaching experience.

Prescribed Experience Goals:

Conducting Classroom Observations to Identify Best Practices related to:

1. Implementing a StandardsBased & Thematically Organized Curriculum
2. Using the Target Language and Providing Comprehensible Input
3. Facilitating a LearnerCentered Classroom
4. Conducting PerformanceBased Assessments
5. Integrating Culture Content and Language
6. Adapting and Using AgeAppropriate Authentic Materials
   
   

Participant Eligibility:

• A bachelors degree in education or a related field
• Proficiency in the target language(s) to be taught (to be assessed during the interview process)
• Successful completion of a background check or clearance
• Proficiency with educational technology and software used in the classroom
• Sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultural backgrounds
• Availability during the programs scheduled hours 70 of the schedule available in the afternoon and evening)
