The MPIM Department nurtures a highly interactive group of faculty and houses several stateoftheart core facilities including live animal imaging microscopy flow cytometry BSL23 labs and excellent AAALACaccredited conventional and ABSL2 3 animal facilities. Appointments provide an attractive salary competitive startup package and laboratory space. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborations in basic and clinical sciences as well as interdisciplinary programs with the College of Veterinary Medicine College of Engineering and other components of the Texas A&M University and the Health Science Center campuses including the Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston. Core facilities on the Texas A&M University campus include: Molecular Genomics Core Genomics & Bioinformatics service Flow Cytometry & Cell Sorting Facility Integrated Microscopy and Imaging Laboratory Core Histology Laboratory and Integrated Metabolomics Analysis Core Mass Spectrometry Core and Comparative Medicine Program.
Successful applicants will be expected to establish/maintain a leading externally funded research program to participate in the training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and to teach professional and graduate students.
The College of Medicines expectations for holding a tenured/tenuredtrack position include effective undergraduate and/or graduate classroom teaching; mentoring and supervision of undergraduate and/or graduate students and postdoctoral trainees particularly recruiting and mentoring of doctoral students and guiding them through graduation in a timely manner; establishment of a vigorous research program sustained through external funding; publication of peerreviewed research articles that demonstrate impact; and providing service to Texas A&M University and the professional community.
