Minimum Qualifications:
Required: High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalency. On the job training will be provided. Valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license
Preferred: Graduate from an approved Phlebotomy Technician Program or Medical Laboratory Technician Program. Previous training as a phlebotomist. Experience in a hospital or clinic setting performing phlebotomy. Phlebotomy Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician Certification (ASCP or ASPT).

Position Summary:
Under the direction on the Laboratory Manager the Phlebotomist performs venipuncture for the collection of specimens for laboratory analysis. After additional training and experience will also perform arterial and capillary puncture for specimen collection. Must be able to perform specimen collection for patients of all ages (neonates infants children adolescents adults and geriatrics). Provide back up for certain other laboratory personnel such as clerk/courier glassware washer and computer operator. All duties are completed by utilizing the Five Pillars (People Service Excellence Clinical Excellence Financial Excellence and Growth).
