Our Laboratory Services Department uses state of the art equipment technology and processes to collect and test clinical specimens in order to obtain information about the health of our patients so that our interprofessional teams can diagnose treat and prevent disease.

Our Medical Laboratory Technologistsassist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease byperforming tests on tissue blood and other body fluids.

Duration: June 2025 (subject to change per Management Rights)
Hours of Work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays evenings and/or weekends subject to change as per Article 3 Management Rights.

Hourly Rate: $36.84 $50.24

Position Responsibilities:

• Routine Histology to include specimen grossing microtomy special stains Immunohistochemistry specimen bookings and attending needle biopsies.
• Instrument maintenance and quality control.
• Possible Cytology specimen preparation.
• Can be assigned /trained in other Laboratory Disciplines

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Current registration as General Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• 35 years of recent Clinical Pathology experience required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively alone or with all team members including coworkers physicians and other health care team members.
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
