Job Description
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Music Therapy or related field; 12 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Credentialed as a Board Certified Music Therapist (MTBC) preferred or eligible to sit for the exam within the first year of employment.
- Proficient in music performance and creating a therapeutic environment.
- Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance (for fieldbased positions).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with IDT to identify patient/family needs for music therapy and accept referrals.
- Provide music therapy and document assessments interventions and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Develop treatment plans addressing cognitive psychosocial and spiritual needs.
- Maintain effective communication with patients families and care partners.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and educational programs.
- Provide bereavement support and attend memorial services as needed.
- Educate staff patients and the community about the role of music therapy.
