Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Music Therapy or related field; 12 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Board Certified Music Therapist (MTBC) preferred or eligible to sit for the exam within the first year of employment.
  • Proficient in music performance and creating a therapeutic environment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance (for fieldbased positions).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with IDT to identify patient/family needs for music therapy and accept referrals.
  2. Provide music therapy and document assessments interventions and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
  3. Develop treatment plans addressing cognitive psychosocial and spiritual needs.
  4. Maintain effective communication with patients families and care partners.
  5. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and educational programs.
  6. Provide bereavement support and attend memorial services as needed.
  7. Educate staff patients and the community about the role of music therapy.
