Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Location: Chicago IL

You will be involved in a variety of unique design projects with an emphasis on airports and Department of Energy laboratories.
Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work on project teams to create worldclass designs for new projects and renovations on a variety of projects. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints design factors or client needs.
You Have:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABETaccredited program.
- Minimum 7 years of related experience preferably consulting.
- PE license in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problemsolving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills include Microsoft Office Suite Bluebeam AutoCAD BIM (Revit) hydraulic analysis and HVAC analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail facilitation team building collaboration organization and problemsolving skills.
- This position will be performing Federal related project work for clients. A qualified applicant must have the ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access authorization to the clients facilities.
You Will:
- Applies strong knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering/design concepts principles practices codes and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.
- Perform HVAC and plumbing design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Design mechanical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project manager.
- Research and compile projectrelated data as required by the project manager.
- Determine project scope schedule and budget.
- Assist clients with planning facility improvements for mechanical plumbing and/or associated controls aspects of projects.
- Compile information for client presentations and lead mechanical discussion during design Charrette and client review meetings.
- Lead the mechanical project team to meet designated schedule and budget and provide quality deliverables including drawings specifications reports and calculations.
- Provide leadership guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
- Successfully communicate and correspond with internal design resources and external personnel and clients.
- Compile information for client presentations shop drawing review and contract administration for the design of power process pipeline industrial airports commercial and governmental and military facilities.
- May perform project or design management duties.
- May perform field inspections.
