Healthcare Data Analyst
Summary
Petersburg Medical Center is seeking a part time Health Data Analyst to join our Information Technology team. The role is essential in supporting the hospitals datadriven decisionmaking processes. The Healthcare Data Analyst will collect analyze and report on clinical financial and operational data to improve patient outcomes enhance efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to understand data needs and deliver actional insights.
- Extract clean and analyze data from electronic health records (EHR) financial systems and other sources.
- Design and generate reports dashboards and visualizations to support decisionmaking and performance improvement.
- Monitor data quality and ensure accuracy completeness and integrity of datasets.
- Assist with data submission for regulatory reporting and compliance requirements (e.g. Medicare Medicaid UDS reports).
- Identify trends patterns and opportunities for improving patient care and operational performances.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on data tools and reporting solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field (Data Analytics Healthcare Administration Computer Science or equivalent).
- Experience in data analysis preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in SQL Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI Tableau or similar).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems particularly Cerner Epic Meditech is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on data tools and reporting solutions.
- Must be able to pass a State of Alaska background check and a drug screen (including .
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA HEDIS UDS).
- Experience with healthcare reporting and data extraction tools.
- Understanding of quality improvement initiatives in clinical settings.
Working Conditions
- Part time 15 20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling options.
