Responsibilities
- The buyer shall be responsible for confirming that all procurement activities for assigned projects is conducted in accordance with PCLs Ethics and Code of Conduct PCLs policies and procedures and applicable project procurement and materials plans and coordinating with other buyers on materials and services to be quoted.
- Additional responsibilities include ensuring that all materials services and rentals are purchased in compliance with the requirements of internal and external customers as well as applicable codes and standards as determined by the project/facility.
- Be accountable for ensuring compliance with PCL ethics and Code of Conduct.
- Perform cradletograve purchase order administration.
- Enter purchase order details into the accounting E1 system and our PCMS systems.
- Perform commercial evaluation of bids and develop the integrated award recommendation documents.
- Ensure supplier performance in accordance with the agreed scope specifications and price.
- Conduct bid clarification and preaward meetings and provide regular input to PSR meetings.
- Contribute to control of the change order process with other members of the project team.
- Expedite purchase order deliverables and onsite deliveries when required.
- Conduct negotiations for purchase order award changes and back charges as required.
- Be accountable for the success of the procurement activities and deliverables in accordance with agreed
- Schedules milestones and cost focused at aiding business goals and profitability.
- Assist the accounting department with resolving supplier invoicing issues.
- Network and build relationships with suppliers management for goods and services and leverages these relationships to aid performance.
Qualifications
- Experience in Heavy Industrial Construction oil and gas
- 4 years of progressive experience in supply chain / procurement preferred.
- Postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline an asset (e.g. business supply chain management logistics warehouse distribution).
- Working towards completion of a procurement designation or certification considered an asset.
- May provide mentorship to students buyers or hourly staff in daily procurement tasks.
